Divine G, imprisoned in Sing Sing for a crime he didn’t commit, finds purpose by performing in a theater group with other incarcerated men in this story of resilience, humanity, and the transformative power of art. At the beginning of the film, the actors try out for different parts in the play. The group has still been criticized for not doing comedy, their previous play was A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which was a comedy.

Late Night with Seth Meyers: Anna Faris/Colman Domingo/Jose Medeles (2024) is featured. This movie made me cry, laugh, smile, and feel really good. I feel like this is a movie about humanity.
I love the hope this movie made me feel
At the end of the day, people are just people. I’m not sure if I chose to see this in theaters, but I was surprised by how beautiful the film was. I don’t know anything about awards and how those decisions are made.
The characters come across as genuine and relatable
I would be really shocked if this film didn’t have a board. I was so surprised when I found out more about the actors at the end of the film, which made me cry even more. Happy tears.
Good for Hope
I was happy that the characters were raw in their performances, I can’t say enough. This film is big, and it feels so important.
